Paul Holmes for Southampton Test

A busy morning on the doorstep talking to voters in Shirley, campaigning for Paul Holmes in Southampton Test. Although I ditched the blue rosette and donned the red & white stripes for an afternoon at St Mary's, on June 8th I'm hoping Southampton turns completely blue.

Campaigning in Bristol East

A very, very wet but prouductive trip with team North West Hampshire to Bristol East today, campaignimg for Theo Clarke. Strong support on the doorstep with many voters pledging to vote Conservative for the first time. Why? Because Theresa May is the only possible Prime Minister they trust to deliver Brexit.

Dr Caroline Johnson for Sleaford and North Hykeham

Last night I visited CCHQ to make phone calls for our candidate for the Sleaford and North Hykeham by-election, Dr Caroline Johnson MP.

Caroline is an excellent candidate and as a Consultant Paediatrician is well versed in public service.

She is completely behind the Government's plans for Brexit and if elected is determined deliver on the decision made by the British people.

North West Hampshire hit Witney

North West Hampshire hit Witney earlier today, joining the campaign to get Robert Courts elected as the new Member of Parliament.  The by-election follows the resignation, as an MP, of former Prime Minister, David Cameron.

A bustling Conservative campaign centre send us on our way to Carterton, where we enjoyed several pleasant hours delivering Robert's latest leaflet and chatting to local residents.

Dave George for Whitchurch

A rare ray of sunshine amongst the sleet and snow in Whitchurch last night. I was out in Lynch Hill Park campaigning for our hardworking candidate, Dave George to be elected to Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council. I was joined by County Councillor for the area, Tom Thacker.

Dave lives locally in Whitchurch, is already elected to the Town Council, chairing their Neighbourhood Plan steering committee for the last few years. He is very experienced in planning matters and wants to protect Whitchurch from inappropriate development.

I was impressed by the amount of support he already has. Elections in Whitchurch are always hotly contested though - so if you live in Whitchurch Ward, please go out and support Dave next Thursday.

Back Zac & Crack on Delivering for Londoners

Listening to the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson in Wanstead this evening on why we should back Zac & crack on with delivering for London.

Over the past eight years, Boris has put London back on the map. We have seen record investment and jobs created, crime down, tube delays down and crossrail delivered.

A successful London is important for a prosperous Britain. That's why it's vital that Zac Goldsmith becomes the next Mayor of London so we can lock in and build on this success.

Surveying Voters with London Mayoral Candidate Zac Goldsmith

This evening I joined our candidate for the London Mayoral elections, Zac Goldsmith, to survey London voters on what issues are important to them.

They want a continued focus on tacking crime, protection of our green spaces and a continued investment in better transport. I was pleased to tell them that Zac was their man, building on Boris' great record.

Over the past seven years, Boris has put London back on the map. We have seen record investment, jobs created, crime down, and tube delays down. It's essential that Zac Goldsmith becomes the next Mayor of London so we can lock in and build on this success.

Campaigning in Peartree Ward Southampton

A pleasant morning leafleting and speaking to residents in Knighton Road, Southampton, for Royston Smith MP and Peartree Ward Conservatives.

Local Conservatives won seats on Southampton City Council in May this year but it is still controlled by the Labour Party.  With hard work and determination I'm sure local residents will endorse the Conservatives at the election again next year and with it control of the Council.

Tomorrow - Vote for Hardworking Councillors

Tomorrow you will have the opportunity to decide who will represent you, not just in Parliament, but on Test Valley BoroughCouncil.

I believe I've been an effective representative for Alamein Ward over the last 8 years - and with your support would like to continue to use my experience, determination and drive to deliver for local residents, fighting for you in the Council chamber.

My three proudest achievements over the last 4 years have been; leading the campaign to protect disabled people who cannot work from Council Tax benefit changes which would have seen them £100 a year a year worse off; consistently arguing for a low Council Tax which in 2011/12 led to a reduction in Council Tax for Andover residents; and presenting my prospectus to improve Andover Town Centre which contributed to the setting up of the Andover Summit and the constant focus on improving our High Street.

I have also overseen the delivery of the new purpose built skatepark; a successful campaign to protect our local gaps; a new road safety scheme for Endeavour and Roman Way primary schools; more parking for King Arthurs Way; the development of the Enham Way; whilst supporting our Parish Council's and Community Associations.

I am passionate about serving the public. It is my firm belief that it is the role of the local Councillor to help people help themselves so our communities reach their full potential.

We have a first class team here in Alamein - but can only carry on our record of action with your continued endorsement.

Tomorrow please vote for Alex Brook, Phil North & Tracey Preston.

Conservative Manifesto Launch - The Right to Buy is Back

This morning I was in Swindon for the launch of the Conservative Manifesto with key pledges on tax, childcare & housing.

As the Prime Minister said the great recession has now turned into a great recovery. The Conservatives have rescued the economy, created record numbers of jobs and put Britain back on her feet. The next five years are about turning the good news in our economy into a good life for you and your family.

In the last few days the Conservatives have promised to eliminate the deficit and run a surplus by 2018, find £8bn more funding for the NHS and scrap inheritance tax on all homes worth up to £1m. Today we announced further policies demonstrating that the Conservatives are the real party of hardworking people.

If elected we pledge to take all those on the minimum wage out of income tax altogether, having already delivered a tax cut for 26 million people. If elected we will increase free childcare from 15 hours a week to 30 hours a week and if elected we will give housing association tenants, many of whom I represent here in Alamein Ward, the ability to buy their home. The right to buy is back!

Great to be joined by Sir George Young and Kit Malthouse tonight as the Alamein team hit Caerleon Drive, Gawaine Close, Meliot Rise and Ryon Close.

Following the Annual Parish Assembly in Enham Alamein we headed to The Oak at Smannell for the pub quiz. A respectable 3rd and 10 out of 10 in the politics round. Do you know what an MP is doing when they take the Chiltern Hundreds?

A very pleasant spring evening talking to residents in Lillywhite Crescent & Loveridge Close with our Parliamentary candidate, Kit Malthouse and the team.

There were various issues raised with us. Residents were particularly pleased that the Council tax has been frozen again this year, that the new skatepark is now up and running for our young people and that the bollards preventing through traffic along Icknield Way have now been fixed. We continue to work on several individual issues that were brought to our attention.

Local Conservative Election Campaign Launched

Launching the Conservative Parliamentary and Local election campaign this morning outside the Guildhall in Andover.

We have a dedicated team taking the message to the people of Andover and North West Hampshire that Conservatives in Government equals a strong Britain; the deficit down, more people in work than ever before, income tax cuts, welfare dependency tackled; all leading to strong economic growth which funds our public services.

In Test Valley Borough Council, Council Tax has been frozen in 4 of the last 5 years, whilst still delivering effective and efficient services, more investment in leisure facilities, supporting businesses and working to rejuvenate our town centre, building homes for all and supporting our communities to reach their full potential.

Parliament Dissolves, Election Campaign Begins

Parliament dissolves today, firing the starting gun for the General Election. On the 7th May you will have the opportunity to decide who will represent you, not just in Parliament, but on Test Valley Borough Council.

I am privileged to be one of the Conservative candidates for the Alamein Ward. Having been the Councillor here for the last 8 years, I believe I have the experience to continue to get the best deal for local residents, fighting for you in the Council chamber.

My three proudest achievements in that time have been; leading the campaign to protect disabled people who cannot work from Council Tax benefit changes which would have seen them £100 a year a year worse off; consistently arguing for a low Council Tax which in 2011/12 led to a reduction in Council Tax for Andover residents; and presenting my prospectus to improve Andover Town Centre which contributed to the setting up of the Andover Summit and the constant focus on improving our High Street.

I am passionate about serving the public. It is my firm belief that it is the role of the local Councillor to help people help themselves so our communities reach their full potential. I want to continue to support you – and will be campaigning wholeheartedly to remain as your Councillor after May 7th.

Income Tax Cuts with the Conservatives

With the Prime Minister today as he set out plans for further tax cuts.

Since the election in 2010, the Conservatives have cut income tax for over 24 million people and after the next election, we'll go further.

If still in Government the Conservatives will take everyone who earns less than £12,500 out of income tax altogether and raise the 40p tax threshold, so that no-one earning less than £50,000 pays it.

Over the last five years, we've halved the deficit while cutting income tax. And in the next Parliament, we'll do the same again: eliminating the deficit while reducing your taxes. It's your money, not the Government's - and I believe you should keep as much of it as possible.
